CJP’s Board of Directors oversees the school’s operations and sets all policies. The Board is made up of Board-appointed representatives, as well as appointed representatives from our partners: Temple Beth El, Temple Israel, and the Levine JCC.

When I look back on the years my children spent at the Charlotte Jewish Preschool, I am so thankful for their love of learning, kindness towards all, foundation of Judaism, and the community in which this all developed. The Charlotte Jewish Preschool is a very special place, and although my children’s time here is over, I am very glad mine is not.

I am proud of the work the Board of Directors is doing to fulfill our strategic initiatives for the continued success of our community school. Our group of lay leaders have a wonderful passion for our school as well as a depth of knowledge that will help us reach and maintain our goals to support, retain and invest in effective staff and board members, promote a culture of community, engage in intentional, mission-driven growth planning, and increase financial strength and stability so CJP is here for families for years to come. My hope is that each family who attends CJP is filled with the same joy from watching their children develop a love or learning, a love of being Jewish, but mostly a love of themselves and others.

Our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is an active, committed group of parent and teacher volunteers that creates a caring school community, as well as organizes volunteer and fundraising activities. Our members, chairpersons, and officers host numerous events and fundraisers throughout the year in order to strengthen our connections and ultimately promote positive growth and learning in our children. We meet regularly to enhance the educational, developmental and social programs offered, and to raise funds for improving the preschool. All parents are welcome and encouraged to become active in the PTO.

On behalf of the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), welcome to the Charlotte Jewish Preschool (CJP)!

I am thrilled to be serving as your PTO President this year at our incredibly special preschool. My son, Graham, has been at CJP for the past two years, and we feel so lucky to have him at such a wonderful place. Every teacher and staff member has provided a balanced, loving, and structured environment to learn, explore, and develop their Jewish identities, and we are grateful to be a part of such an incredible community.

After a very different year last year, the PTO is ready to help things feel as back to normal as possible. Although we might need to make some changes to some of our events due to COVID-19, we are hoping to start this year fresh and allow all staff and families to feel like they are a part of this dynamic community. With your support, this year the PTO will organize virtual and in-person points of connection for families to meet and socialize, celebrate our amazing staff, coordinate a book fair to provide more books to our kids and classrooms, support families through our Sunshine Committee, and celebrate special events through the year, such as our Fall Gala, Purim, and Graduation.

As we get the 2021-2022 school year started at CJP, we are continuing to build out our calendar of events for this school year. Please stay tuned for more information regarding our upcoming events. Now, more than ever, we encourage you all to join the PTO and take an active role in making the CJP experience special for our kids and staff. You can also help by participating in meetings and by participating in meetings and by volunteering your time on a committee as much as your schedules allow.

I look forward to working together with you and your family to ensure another wonderful year hear at the Charlotte Jewish Preschool.

For more information or to volunteer, please contact Molly at . To join the PTO please fill out the PTO packet and return it to your child's classroom.
