Preschoolers experience so many firsts. For our families, CJP provides them with their first connection to Shalom Park’s numerous agencies and often a first connection to Jewish life.
Our curriculum takes a student-centered approach to Early Childhood education where children learn by experience and is designed to respect each child as a capable and unique individual.
From weekly special lessons to special events, our students enjoy activies that enrich their everyday experiences through play, exploration, and celebration.
Judaism is the foundation for our curriculum and Jewish values are incorporated into students' experiences through daily activities, observance of traditions, and exploration of Jewish culture.
Our teachers and staff are dedicated to creating a loving and safe environment that instills within each child an excitement towards learning and a joyful attitude toward Judaism.
While the students are away (on summer break,) the teachers will… LEARN!!! We are so excited for six of our educators who are participating in @reggioemilialliance NAREA Summer Conference! Our teachers are taking a deep dive at the conference and can’t wait to apply what they have learned in the classroom in August! #cjpisforme... See MoreSee Less

"Playful learning describes a learning context in which children learn content while playing freely (free play or self-directed play), with teacher guidance (guided play), or in a structured game. By harnessing children's natural curiosity and their proclivities to experiment, explore, problem solve, and stay engaged in meaningful activities - especially when doing so with others - teachers maximize learning while individualizing learning goals." -"The Power of Playful Learning in the Early Childhood Setting" by Zosh et. al.Learning through play has prepared out PreK students for Kindergarten - our incredible team of teachers has worked to foster a sense of wonder in each of them that we hope carries through their entire lives. Stay curious, and best of luck to you as you move on to Kindergarten. We will miss you ❤❤❤ ... See MoreSee Less
From Ms. Stephanie, our talented infant teacher:"Watching our youngest students (ages 4 months to 7 months) at CJP learn the core values through exploring and play has been one of the most rewarding years of my career! I have been a part of all their firsts - first sounds, first rolls, first crawls, first steps, first signs, and even some first words! Allowing the kids to explore with the provocations has taught them kavod, limud, kehillah, and b'tzelem Elohim! Now they are between 14 months and 17 months! We can't wait to see how they continue to grow here at CJP!"Wishing everyone a fabulous summer, we can't wait to see your smiling faces back here in August ☀️☀️☀️ ... See MoreSee Less
